Pregnancy Counseling

I was looking for something more meaningful to fulfill my time at home while I finished raising our own children. I prayed about it for a long time. One night as I scrolled Facebook I came upon an ad from Let Them Live. I decided to apply to become a pregnancy counselor. I anxiously awaited to hear back from them, hoping that this was the sign from God that I was waiting for. I received the call and got the position. Soon after I started I came in contact with many women some who had previous abortions these women were hurting and had resentment by their choice to terminate their pregnancy, they often wonder what that baby would be like today. These women are reaching out for help before they have to make that choice again. Other women I’ve worked with have no history of abortion but feel as though their current situation is leading them towards that direction but we have to remember that our current situation is temporary and abortion is permanent. One experience thus far as a counselor that I will always remember is one of my moms was going through a difficult time, she had no idea how she was going to raise another baby by herself. She had an abortion scheduled for the next day. I had asked her if I could pray for her and I spend time in prayer those two days asking for Gods intervention. The day of the abortion, I couldn’t get ahold of her and I feared the worst so I left her a voicemail. As she sat in her car at Planned Parenthood, she checked her phone one last time before going in. She claims it was my message that had changed her mind. She called me crying, exclaiming it was the sign from God that she had been waiting for. It’s experiences like these where we help women in crisis and save these babies from abortion.

Pregnancy counseling with Let Them Live has been one of the most impactful ministries I have ever participated in. There is nothing more rewarding than creating a lifetime relationship with a woman who's child you have helped to save.

It's hard to verbalize how thankful I am that I have had the opportunity to volunteer as a pregnancy counselor. It is so fulfilling and heartwarming to be able to help support these women. I'm so grateful to be a part of their journey!
