URGENT: Separated from her kids and with no car or job, Gloria scheduled an abortion on July 8th

“Gloria” is a mother of 5 and has aspirations to go into the medical field.* The pregnancy came as a complete surprise. When she told the father about it, he said that he did not want kids and proceeded to block her and refuse to speak to her. With the father gone, Gloria looked at her situation and became doubtful that she could get by on her own.

Her kids all live in a different state, and their absence has been especially difficult for Gloria. She is so worried about them that she sometimes can’t eat or sleep. She currently lives with a relative, but it is not an ideal place for a baby. She recently lost her job, and her car broke down to the point where she cannot drive it. Paying for Ubers and buses has added to her financial woes, and she barely has enough to send to her kids. For the first time in her life, Gloria began to consider abortion. It was something that she never wanted to do. But the uncertainty and pain of her circumstances led her to believe that there was no other choice. With tears in her eyes, she reluctantly scheduled an abortion for Monday, July 8th.

After scheduling the appointment, Gloria was stopped by a sidewalk advocate. After hearing about her situation, she told Gloria about Let Them Live. She was encouraged to reach out. Hoping for a way out of abortion, Gloria made contact with us.

“If I don’t have a car, I can’t work. If I can’t work, how can I provide for my kids?” Gloria said to our counselors. Like so many mothers in her position, she wants nothing more than to have her baby and provide a good life for her family. But her difficult situation has led her to believe that abortion is the only choice she has. It does not have to be this way. If we stand together, support her with love, and meet her needs, we can give her the confidence to do what she truly wants: choose life for her precious baby.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Gloria can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
