“Juliet” is a young mother of one and is currently 20 weeks pregnant.* Upon hearing the news of her pregnancy, she felt two conflicting emotions: excitement and fear. When she told the father, all hell broke loose. Not only did he immediately begin pressuring her to abort, but he became angry to the point where she began fearing for her safety. Though she was able to flee to safety, her problems were far from over.

Due to being so far along in her pregnancy, Juliet has had difficulty finding a steady job. Providing for herself and her child has been very hard, and keeping up with bills has also been an immense challenge. She has no support system around her and is entirely alone. Every day that passed, she became more fearful about the future. It soon became unbearable, and she decided to do what she was hoping to avoid. With great reluctance, Juliet scheduled an abortion on October 15th. When she made the appointment, she came across an ad for Let Them Live. Feeling like it was a sign, she quickly reached out to us.

“I have no confidence to keep this baby,” she explained to our counselors. “I would feel horrible after an abortion. But I feel like it is the only way I can build a better life for my child.” Juliet’s concerns are sadly all too common. Like so many mothers in her position, she has come to believe that abortion is the only choice. It does not have to be this way. If we stand together, support her with love, and meet her needs, we can give her the confidence to do what she truly wants: choose life for her precious baby.
