Let Them Live is actively counseling a 17-weeks pregnant mom, "Maggie". She has an abortion scheduled for Saturday, March 5th*.

Maggie is 43 years old and was told by her Doctor that she was infertile and too old to have more children. So imagine her disbelief when she discovered that her morning sickness wasn’t the onset of Covid or the flu, but side effects of a new life budding inside of her.

When she found out she was pregnant, Maggie’s mind immediately started to race. She worried about how her religious community would react, and about the demeaning whispers and sideways glances she would receive.

Sadly, up to 62% of women who get abortions belong to religious communities.* So even though Maggie is part of a religious community, she is not immune to the pressures to abort.

Some elders in her community are encouraging her to abort. Others insist that she leave the community. Maggie cherishes her community, and believes it has many good qualities, but in many of the members’ eyes, her pregnancy is not one of them.

Maggie knows that her baby’s life is miraculous, but she fears what may happen if she chooses life. The specific members that she relies on for financial support are pushing her to abort. She fears that she may be cut off completely if she continues her pregnancy.
