Lilly's Story

Lily's boyfriend was abusive, and he only got worse once she became pregnant. She began to fear for her safety, as well as that of her two young daughters. She knew she needed to move, but she had recently lost her job and struggled to keep up with her bills. Additionally, she had no local support system and the closest family she had was hundreds of miles away.

Eventually, desperation led her to consider abortion, but she wasn’t sure it was the best option.

As it would turn out, the best option was one Instagram message away.

Lily reached out to Let Them Live and we reached back with hope and reassurance. We established a plan to stabilize Lily’s finances, and, with your support, she was able to move out of state for the safety of her family. Once she was finally living in peace, she decided to re-enroll in college to prepare for her future, and her pregnancy progressed.

Then, in the weeks leading up to her delivery Lily caught Covid-19 and endured health complications that led to the premature delivery of her baby.

Naz, Lily’s first boy, was born on June 13, 2021. After his birth, he was rushed to the NICU for treatment. Although Lily was scared for her son, she stayed strong and, eventually, Naz emerged safe and sound and was swaddled in his mother’s arms to be taken home.

Thanks to your generous donations, and the work of our team, Lily is now safe and sound with her family of four.
