URGENT: Pregnant and Facing Homelessness, Mom in NYC Schedules Abortion Saturday, Nov. 26th

“Raven” is a 31-year-old mother of an 8-year-old daughter, Jessie, and is 12 weeks pregnant with her second child. While Raven does have a web of emotional support, her financial troubles have reached a breaking point. Her family is not in a position to financially support her and her children.

Raven lost her job in September 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While she was unemployed, she applied for and received low-income housing under section 8. She was able to get another full-time job in August. 

Though she now earns a decent wage, the high cost of living in New York City and her inability to move to a less-expensive area have made it difficult to keep up with monthly payments. Her back pay of rent and utilities that accumulated during her unemployment has prevented her from receiving additional housing. She must make a significant payment toward her rent next week, or her and Jessie will be homeless. But we are here to help.

By chance, one of Raven’s friends is a Let Them Live mom and referred her to us!

Raven has made it clear that stability is the most important thing to her. She has said that we are her last hope to get out of her complex financial situation. If her finances could be resolved, she would choose life. 

A majority of abortions happen due to financial pressure. It does not have to be this way. Together, we can be the hope that Raven, Jessie and her baby need.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Raven can confidently carry her pregnancy to term.

Note: These expenses may be adjusted in the future based on additional expenses incurred during and after her pregnancy. With your help, we can save Raven, Jessie and her 12-week baby from abortion and homelessness! Donors will receive updates on Raven and her baby throughout and after her pregnancy.
