Let Them Live is actively counseling a 17-weeks pregnant mom, "Abby". She has an abortion scheduled for Monday, March 21st*.

Shortly after Abby found out she was expecting twins, she knew that if she kept the babies she’d be forced to raise them alone. The father of Abby’s children had proven himself unreliable. He consistently asked more from her than he gave, and wasn’t around much to see their children.

Abby expected her children would have an absent father. What she hadn’t anticipated was his insistence that she abort their new babies. She was nervous for what was to come, but she knew she didn’t want to abort.

Although Abby’s daughter had dealt with sickness since infancy, she grew sicker as Abby’s pregnancy progressed. After quitting her job to care for her toddler full-time, Abby noticed that she, too, felt unwell. Now she is struggling to care for herself and her daughter—who is hanging onto life in an intensive care unit.

As the medical bills began to pile up, Abby reached a new level of desperation. She told herself that life wasn’t an option and scheduled an abortion appointment.

Then, in desperation a close friend suggested that she contact us, and she did.

Abby confided to her Let Them Live counselor that she doesn’t expect much help, as she is used to being alone. Ultimately, Abby needs hope—something I am confident we can provide with our support.

Donors will receive updates on Abby and her babies throughout and after her pregnancy. ----- Note: We have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of twins (and even one set of triplets) we’ve been put in touch with recently! This is our third pair of twins this year, not to be confused with Sophia or Catey’s babies. We do receive many referrals (approximately 60 a month) and only run public fundraisers for the moms that are in the most difficult circumstances, which also explains why we almost always run fundraisers for twin moms when they come. They are generally in need of deeper financial support which our community is well equipped to provide!
