“Addie” was battling many difficulties before she discovered she was pregnant*. Years prior, she experienced the trauma of abortion and several miscarriages. She eventually had a child, but the previous pregnancies caused serious health issues that could affect others in the future. To make things worse, her husband was physically abusive to the point where Addie feared for her life. This violence led to his incarceration, and Addie moved away to safety. Then, she discovered she was pregnant.

Addie worried whether she could carry this pregnancy to term. Due to intense morning sickness, she had to leave her job, causing her to fall behind on bills. Addie is also concerned that her current residence is too small for a baby. Addie’s family members have suggested that abortion is her best option. Addie does not want to go through that again. But as she contemplated her worsening finances and health, she felt increasingly hopeless. Reluctantly, Addie scheduled an abortion. Fortunately, she remembered discovering Let Them Live some time ago and decided to reach out to our counselors.

“How will I take care of myself and my child with a baby?” she asked as she talked to us about her circumstances. Despite all she has been through, Addie is a sweet young woman who truly does not want to abort. All she wants is financial stability and a good life for her family. If we stand with her and meet her needs, we can help her make the choice she knows is right. Together, we can give Addiethe love and the confidence she needs to choose life for her precious baby.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Addie can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
