When she told the father of the baby she was pregnant, he immediately pressured her to abort. Her LTL counselor asked Andrea how likely she is to have an abortion, and she responded that she is going to and that the abortion is scheduled for November 11th.
Mostly, Andrea is just trying to keep up with her three kids following the death of her brother Ian, who committed suicide in August. Andrea and her brother lived near each other and he would often help care for her kids. Andrea describes herself as normally a happy person — but Ian’s suicide was very unexpected and sent her spiraling into a deep depression.
To make matters worse, Andrea missed several days of work when she found out he died and was fired from her second job. Fortunately, she does still have another job, but even with government assistance, she isn’t making enough to make ends meet. Andrea has no idea how she’ll provide for a new baby when she’s already struggling to care for her current children.
But our community can surround Andrea with the love and support she needs to choose life. In addition to our financial support to get Andrea caught up on bills, we will get her a larger car to fit all of her children. Further, we will provide Andrea with a life coach, financial coach, counselor and a therapist to help her cope with the trauma of her brother’s suicide and her unexpected pregnancy.
