URGENT: Mother of 6 in an abusive marriage obtains abortion pills

Ayla is a young mother of six and is currently 7 weeks pregnant.* She is in the midst of going through a divorce from her abusive husband, whom she has been separated from for a couple years. Ayla has endured physical assault and harassment from her husband, who has a history of substance abuse. At one point he assaulted her in front of her kids, leading to receiving protection orders against him. He has been extremely controlling and she is looking to break free of his toxic influence.

Financial difficulties also loom large for Ayla. She has been self-employed for a long time, but during the pandemic she lost a significant amount of clientele, making it increasingly challenging to provide for her growing family. Her morning sickness also prevented her from working full-time. When she found out she was pregnant, she became scared and immediately ordered abortion pills. Though she was able to obtain the pills with astonishing ease, Ayla did not want to take them. She wanted a way out. She began searching for help, which led her to discovering Let Them Live. 

She told our counselors that if she had financial and emotional help, she wouldn’t consider abortion. She has confidence in her ability to raise her baby along with her six kids, but her financial struggles have led her to believe that abortion is the only option. She believes abortion is murder and would be truly devastated, but she doesn't know what else to do. 

Though many mamas feel that finances have to be the deciding factor of whether to keep their babies or not, it does not have to be this way. If we stand together with Ayla, meet her needs, and give her much-needed emotional support, we can give her the confidence to choose life for her precious baby.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Ayla can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
