Carly and John are a young couple with three small children. Carly is currently 7 weeks pregnant with an abortion scheduled for Saturday, November 11th.*

When Carly discovered she was pregnant, she immediately recalled her previous births. Due to a health complication, she had low iron in her system for all three pregnancies, and each one had to be delivered via C-section. Carly and John began to fear that the same issues would happen with their newest baby. But these were not their greatest fears.

Carly and John’s financial situation is a constant mental and emotional torment. Due to their kid’s schedules and pregnancy complications, she recently had to leave her minimum-wage job. She is afraid that finding a better-paying job will be impossible due to her high risk pregnancy and children’s busy schedule. She and John  live together and have a good relationship, but he is also unemployed and looking for a new job.

The lack of money coming in from either of them has put them far behind on rent and hindered their ability to provide basic family needs. To make things more difficult, both of their extended families also struggle with poverty and are not able to take them in.

The possibility of living on the street led Carly and John to strongly consider abortion. Overwhelmed with fear and stress, they scheduled an appointment. On her way inside the clinic, Carly was stopped by a sidewalk advocate and informed about Let Them Live. After hearing about what we do, she decided to get in touch, and was soon speaking with our counselors.

Carly is a sweet and thoughtful woman who loves her kids. At one point, she told her counselor “I hate that I can’t even afford warm clothing for them when the seasons change”. Like many mothers in her situation, she has come to believe that her circumstances are so severe that she has no choice but to choose abortion - even though she does not want to. If we stand with Carly and John and meet their needs, we can help them make a better choice. Together, we can give Carly and John the confidence to do what they truly want to do - choose life for their precious 7-week baby.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Carly and John can get back on their feet and Carly can confidently carry their baby to term:
Groceries | Pregnancy and job / financial counseling | Clothing and Other Necessities | Past-due Rent | Debt Relief | Baby Items | Other Related Expenses
Note: These expenses may be adjusted in the future based on additional expenses incurred during and after her pregnancy. With your help, we can save Carly, John and their 7-week baby from abortion! Donors will receive updates on Carly and her baby throughout and after her pregnancy.
