Let Them Live is actively counseling "Demi", who recently started planning a 6 week pill abortion. She is facing pressure to abort due to financial constraints and damage to her apartment following Hurricane Ian, as well as the recent death of both of her parents.*

Demi found out she was 5 weeks pregnant with her first child following an order to evacuate her home in Florida prior to Hurricane Ian hitting. As she gathered her belongings and prepared to leave her home, she realized that she had missed her last period.

On her way out of town, Demi decided to grab a pregnancy test. The result was a huge shock, as it was positive.

Demi had just broken up with her boyfriend only a few weeks prior. To make matters worse, her parents recently passed away. The thought of raising a child alone scared her, and the financial responsibility of a child started to sink in. That’s when she decided to get an abortion.

Demi decided to stop at a Planned Parenthood in a neighboring state on her way to a friend’s house. She confided in her Let Them Live counselor that before she left the abortion clinic, she was determined to take the pills and have an abortion before it “became a baby”.

Planned Parenthood told her it was just a “bundle of cells” and that the abortion would solve her “pregnancy scare”. She felt a sense of relief knowing that it would be over soon.

But as she left Planned Parenthood with abortion pills, a pro-life sidewalk counselor approached and asked if she had heard of Let Them Live. She explained what we do and handed her a brochure. “Honestly, I didn’t read it and put it in my purse”.

As Demi drove to her friend’s house in Tennessee, she started to wonder. “What would it be like if I had a baby?” She pushed the thoughts down in her gut and stayed committed to taking the pills.

The next day, she found out that her apartment had flooded and many of her belongings were damaged or destroyed. She cried with her friend thinking about it all, and then headed for the bathroom to take the first pill.

As she was pulling out the pills, the flier from Let Them Live caught her eye. She sat down and began to read it. It was our offer of financial support that ultimately convinced her to give us a call.

Most of Demi’s fears are based in providing for a child while trying to work full time without support from her parents, who recently passed away. So we offered to replace her damaged belongings and cover childcare for the first year after the baby was born so that she could keep working.

Knowing that we would be there to help, she decided she would give us a chance!

Demi still has the pills but we are confident that with our support, she will toss them out and choose life. With your help, we know that we can save Demi and her precious baby from abortion!

Even if it’s just $5, by donating together, our small but mighty community will ensure that Demi can provide for herself and her new child.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Demi can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
Pregnancy and job / financial counseling | Childcare | Prenatal Care | Medical Expenses | Replacing Damaged Belongings | Other Related Expenses
Note: These expenses may be adjusted in the future based on additional expenses incurred during and after her pregnancy. With your help, we can save Demi and her 6 week baby from abortion! Donors will receive updates on Demi and her baby throughout and after her pregnancy.
