“Eleanor” is a young mother of three and is currently 10 weeks pregnant.* When she discovered the pregnancy, she felt only two emotions: surprise and sorrow. As she dwelt on the difficulties of her current circumstances, she kept asking herself, “How can I do this?”

When Eleanor told the father, he reacted with indifference. Their relationship had recently ended and she does not believe he will be there to help her. She and her three kids currently live with family members, and the environment is not a good place in which to bring a baby. Eleanor knows that they would not support her if she has her baby. Her family told her that she has to move out soon, which would leave her homeless. She does not have a car, which has made finding work very difficult. Despite receiving government assistance, it is only enough to cover the most basic needs, and her job search has yielded nothing so far. The lack of a job, a car, and the threat of homelessness led her to consider abortion. She initially didn't think she could do it, but her fears about the future became too much to bear. Reluctantly, Eleanor scheduled an abortion at Planned Parenthood on Friday, June 21st. After looking into pregnancy resource centers, one of them recommended reaching out to Let Them Live. When she learned about what we do, Eleanor soon made contact with us.

“I feel completely defeated,” she told our counselors. “If I can’t get a job, a car, or another place to live, I’ll have to abort.” This is how many mom’s in Eleanor’s position feel. She wants nothing more than to have her baby and provide a good life for her family. But the trials of her situation have led her to believe that abortion is the only choice. It does not have to be this way. If we stand together, support her with love, and meet her needs, we can give her the confidence to do what she truly wants: choose life for her precious baby.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Eleanor can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
Housing + Utilities | Pregnancy and job / financial counseling | Clothing and Other Necessities | Baby Items | Other Related Expenses
Note: These expenses may be adjusted in the future based on additional expenses incurred during and after her pregnancy. With your help, we can save Eleanor and her baby from abortion! Donors will receive updates on Eleanor and her baby throughout and after her pregnancy.
