Halle is a young recent high school graduate with hopes of going to college to pursue work in the psychology field.* She is currently 12 weeks pregnant. This news came as a mixture of shock and excitement, as she had been planning a fresh start with the baby’s father in a new state. However, when she revealed the pregnancy to him on the way to the airport, he reacted violently. In a fit of anger, he shoved her and left her at the airport, telling her never to contact him again. Halle was now abandoned and alone in an unfamiliar state.

Her difficulties arose the moment she arrived. She had an apartment and a job lined up for her arrival, but it has not proven to be a smooth transition. The job ended up falling through, and Halle did not have any backup jobs planned. Her apartment had the first month of rent covered, but Halle needs to find work as soon as possible to keep paying rent. To make things more difficult, she does not have a car, which has proven to be her greatest need. Sometimes she has gone days without eating, and she constantly fears for the future.

Completely abandoned by the father and facing all these challenges alone,  Halle scheduled an abortion. She does not want to go through with it, and has not told friends and family about the pregnancy, as she knows they would all pressure her to do it. Trying to find some hope, she discovered Let Them Live and made contact with our counselors.

Halle is a very sweet and courageous young mom who wants nothing more than to have a stable and secure life for herself and her baby. When her life was upended, she felt she had no choice but to go with abortion. She went so far as to tell our counselors: “I don't think I will be able to be a good mother.”

Many mamas face trials similar to Halle’s: they find themselves in a place where they do not believe they can have their babies because of their circumstances. But it does not have to be this way. If we stand with Halle and meet her needs, we can help her see that she can be a good mother and achieve the life she hopes for. Together, we can give Halle the confidence to choose life for her precious baby.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Halle can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
Housing + Utilities | Groceries | Transportation | Pregnancy and job / financial counseling | Other Related Expenses
Note: These expenses may be adjusted in the future based on additional expenses incurred during and after her pregnancy. With your help, we can save Halle and her 12-week baby from abortion! Donors will receive updates on Halle and her baby throughout and after her pregnancy.
