URGENT: Latoya takes first dose of abortion pills, needs abortion reversal

Latoya was initially calm and collected when she found out she was pregnant.* But this feeling did not last long. The father had always been kind and loving to Latoya, but when he found out about the pregnancy, he seemed to change into a different person. He reacted very badly, stopped showing any kind of support, and essentially abandoned her.

Latoya told the news to her friends and family. They have all said that they would support whatever she decides. Though they are standing with her, all of them live out of state. Latoya is alone with no immediate support. She has a full-time job, but it does not pay very well. In addition to this, she fell into debt a while back and is still struggling to pay it off. With these financial woes and a lack of support, Latoya obtained and took the first phase of abortion pills.

Shortly after this, Latoya told her Let Them Live counselor that she had already taken the first pill and that it was too late to change her mind. Our counselors tried explaining that there was still time to reverse the pill’s effects and save her baby from abortion. Latoya is skeptical of what Let Them Live does, and, because of her fears about her present situation, is still not fully confident in choosing life. 

Many mamas are in Latoya’s situation. Because they have been hurt before, they have a hard time believing that there are people who truly want to help them. But we can make it clear that we do want to help Latoya. Together, we can help Latoya save her baby from the pill’s effects and confidently choose life.

Latoya has a follow up appointment at Planned Parenthood on Wednesday, March 22nd. We are working overtime to convince her to take the abortion pill reversal, and cancel the follow up appointment.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Latoya can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
