Help save a baby from abortion. After losing her job and falling behind on rent, “Leah’s” boyfriend ordered abortion pills

“Leah” is a young mother of two and is currently 6 weeks pregnant.* When she discovered the pregnancy, two conflicting emotions fell over her: shock and sadness. Her relationship with the father is not good, and she did not expect him to react well to the news. He quickly severed contact and began demanding that she abort. Though they do not live together, he continued to ask her repeatedly whether she had aborted or not. Leah succeeded in ignoring him for a time, but her problems only began to grow worse.

At the time that she discovered her pregnancy, Leah was working a physically demanding job. Due to morning sickness and risks to her safety, she was let go. With no income, she quickly fell behind on rent. Affording basic needs for her kids soon became a huge challenge, and it wasn't long before her landlord threatened to evict her. Leah tried to find another job but had no luck. As her savings dwindled, she began to feel more hopeless with each passing day, and she reached her breaking point. She scheduled an abortion and traveled to the clinic. Before walking through the door, a sidewalk advocate told her about Let Them Live. Feeling like there was still a chance, she quickly contacted us and explained her situation. Unfortunately, shortly after this meeting, the father told Leah that he had ordered abortion pills for her to take.

When Leah talked to our counselors, she stressed that abortion is not something she ever wanted to do. She truly wants her baby, but the father’s incessant pressure is making her feel like she has no other choice but to abort. It does not have to be this way. We can give her the hope she so desperately needs. If we stand together, support her with love, and meet her needs, we can give her the confidence to do what she truly wants: choose life for her precious baby.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Leah can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
