Let Them Live is actively counseling a 32-weeks pregnant mom, "Mary". She has a two-day abortion scheduled for Thursday and Friday, September 15th and 16th.*

We just started counseling “Mary”—a 17-year-old who, shockingly, is 32-weeks pregnant with twins—after she was referred to Let Them Live by her grandmother.

Mary bravely shared with her Let Them Live counselor how her family threatened to kick her out of the home if she didn’t get an abortion. They then forced her to call the local abortion clinic and schedule the abortion. During the ultrasound, they discovered she was pregnant with not one, but two babies. The tech showed Mary the ultrasound, who cried at the thought of being forced to end her innocent babies’ lives.

So she decided to confide in her grandmother, Rita, who is pro-life. Now Rita is working alongside us to help Mary choose life for her precious twins.

When Mary first found out she was pregnant, she had never imagined having an abortion. But the burden of pressure from her family has pushed her over the edge.

The thought of having twins absolutely terrifies Mary. This fear is exacerbated by the lack of involvement of her babies’ father, who has made it clear that he will not support her or their children. He has become uninvolved and unresponsive.

Adding to Mary’s fears and anxieties is the fact that she is missing many days of school due to severe pregnancy-related sickness. She has no idea when she’ll be able to return to a regular school routine or how she will take care of any baby, let alone two, after they’re born. Mary is concerned she would have to drop out — but we are offering to help her with daycare services to ensure she makes it through high school.

Mary feels abandoned and hopeless. She doesn’t want an abortion, but doesn’t see how she can possibly provide for two babies in her current situation. But fortunately, together as a community, we can surround Mary with the love and support she needs to be a successful mom.

It is a miracle that Mary’s Grandma Rita referred her to Let Them Live. With your support, we can prepare Mary for a future that includes both of her beautiful babies!
