“Natalie” is a mother of 2 and is currently pregnant with twins.* Though the news came as a complete shock, she was still happy. This was not to last, however. When she told the father, he not only pressured her to abort immediately, but he cut off all communication and made it clear he wanted nothing to do with them. Soon after, she moved into a relative’s house. Though it has been stable for a while, her relative has made it clear that her time is limited. As if this was not enough, Natalie has not been able to find work to provide for her kids and afford childcare. With no income, no support, and fearing possible eviction, she began to strongly consider abortion. It is the last thing she ever wanted to do, but the more her situation weighed on her, it soon became unbearable. She finally broke down and scheduled an abortion.

Around the same time she scheduled the original appointment, Natalie discovered Let Them Live on Facebook. After learning about what we do, she sensed that there was a way out of the abortion and contacted us. When we explained how we could help her, she felt confident enough to cancel the abortion. Unfortunately, many of the same issues she has struggled with grew worse, and Natalie began to strongly lean towards abortion again. “I know abortion is wrong, but I just can’t afford to bring two more kids into the world,” she told our counselors. “I feel like I have no other choice.”

Natalie wants nothing more than to have her babies and provide a good life for her family. But like so many mothers in her position, she has come to believe that abortion is the only way forward. Without our support, she will reschedule her abortion. If we stand together, support her with love, and meet her needs, we can give her the confidence to do what she truly wants: choose life for her precious babies.
