Nicci has a 13-week surgical abortion scheduled for Saturday, December 9th*. Shortly after her first child was born, Nicci had a surgical abortion that left her with deep emotional and physical trauma. After the procedure, she never wanted to go through anything like it again. But after becoming pregnant again, her fears about her current circumstances caused her to start thinking about abortion once again.

Nicci currently works as a waitress, but her paychecks barely cover her expenses. She is living paycheck-to-paycheck with no clear end in sight. The father was recently laid off from a well-paying job and has resorted to working in food service, but his income is also hardly enough for all of their needs. He wishes she would not abort, but also agrees with her that their financial burdens are too great for another baby.

Nicci’s living situation is also precarious. As she explained, “My landlord is not nice and she would kick us out if she got the chance. We have a month to month, so she doesn't have to do much to turn us out.” In addition to all of this, Nicci has not told her family about the pregnancy, as she believes they will all tell her to abort.

Faced with a lack of support, dwindling finances, and feelings of fear and hopelessness, Nicci scheduled an abortion. After making the appointment at the clinic, she was stopped by a sidewalk counselor who told Nicci about Let Them Live, and she immediately reached out to us.

“If I abort, I feel like everything is going to fall on me and I don’t know how I’m going to hold everything together,” Nicci said to her Let Them Live counselor. One of the first things she told us was that she does not want to go through the trauma of abortion again. But like so many moms in her position, she has come to believe that abortion - no matter how painful - is the way out of her problems.

It does not have to be this way. If we stand with Nicci and meet her needs, we can be the other way that she wants to take. Together, we can give Nicci the ability to confidently do what she truly wants to do - choose life for her precious 13-week old baby!

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Nicci can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
Housing + Utilities | Pregnancy and job / financial counseling | Debt Relief | Baby Items | Other Related Expenses
Note: These expenses may be adjusted in the future based on additional expenses incurred during and after her pregnancy. With your help, we can save Nicci and her 13-week baby from abortion! Donors will receive updates on Nicci and her baby throughout and after her pregnancy.
