Let Them Live is actively counseling Sadie, a 12-week pregnant mom with an abortion scheduled for Saturday, August 20th*. Her mother has asked, “Why didn’t you just take the pill and get it over with?" Sadie asked herself the same thing but didn’t know what to say. She didn’t know that our community was ready to help.

Sadie was in line at the food bank when we returned her call. After her engagement fell apart, and she had the misfortune of losing her job, Sadie’s life came crashing down. For the past few years, she has relied on her local food bank and other resources to get by.

Then she discovered she was pregnant.

In her mind, her situation mirrors the aftermath of her broken engagement, when she couldn’t afford her house or car anymore and lost everything. Before rebuilding her life, she and her children struggled with homelessness for over a year. Now she fears the same thing will happen if the father of her baby doesn’t give his support.

So far, he has refused to respond to Sadie’s messages, putting all the pressure of their unexpected pregnancy on her. Unfortunately, Sadie was already falling behind on her bills before she discovered her pregnancy. She's convinced that having a baby without his support means that she’ll lose everything again.

Sadie has never considered abortion before but says things have never seemed so bad. With your support, we can make getting an abortion seem unthinkable again!

We’re confident that, with temporary financial assistance and a plan in place, Sadie will be confident too! With our financial coaching, she will learn the skills necessary to plan and budget much more effectively.

All Sadie has wanted is to be able to take care of her family, whether she has help or not—to be self-reliant. By making a donation of any amount, even if it’s just $5, we can give Sadie the opportunity to become independent for all of her children.
