Sage is a young university student in the United Kingdom with an 8-week baby on the way.* Shortly after a breakup with her boyfriend, she learned she was pregnant. The news of her pregnancy caught her completely off guard, leaving her in a state of panic. To save money, Sage has been living with nine other roommates on her university’s campus. But this summer, her lease will end, leaving Sage without a place for her and her baby to live.

Further, Sage recently lost her job due to the demands of school. She has been looking for work elsewhere, but her education is important to her, and Sage has found nothing that can accommodate her school schedule. Her closest friends are telling her that abortion is the best option. Sage’s mother is the lone voice encouraging her to have the baby — but she herself is pregnant and unable to financially help Sage.

With the upcoming end of her lease, no source of income, and no financial support, Sage purchased abortion pills. Thankfully, before she could take the pills, Sage discovered Let Them Live on a Reddit thread following Pro-Life Spiderman’s climb of the Chase Tower in Phoenix. She told our counselors that, “I’m a strong believer that people can make anything work, but I’m also a practical thinker, and I don’t want to bring a child into the world if I can’t afford food for the week.”

Sage has a hopeful outlook on her situation, but is struggling against the fear of what will happen if she has her baby. Countless women are in a similar situation to Sage. But as a community, we can stand together and cast out that fear. Together, we can give Sage and her baby a firm financial foundation, allowing her the confidence she needs to throw out the abortion pills and choose life.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Sage can confidently carry her pregnancy to term.
