Let Them Live is actively counseling an 11-weeks pregnant mom, “Sally.” She has an abortion scheduled for Saturday, April 30th*.

It took years, but Sally had successfully escaped her hometown. Walking away from her past turned out to be easier than she thought because of the warm welcome she received at her grandmother’s house. Thanks to a love that only a grandmother can radiate, Sally and her children relaxed, at peace in their new home.

Sally and her grandmother were just beginning to reforge their bond when they received devastating news. Sally’s grandmother had a terminal illness and was given just a few months to live.

Distraught over this news, Sally sought comfort in the company of a male friend. That one night of grieving brought new life into this world.

Shocked, Sally shared this news with her friend. Immediately, he became cold and withdrew his affection. Now he is urging her to get an abortion and threatens to have nothing to do with their baby.

Driven by fear, Sally considered abortion, but decided to get an ultrasound before going down that route. Sally has experienced the trauma of abortion before and despite feeling hopeless right now, knows deep down that she does not want to go through with another. When asked why she would subject herself to this, making her baby harder to give up, she wept and sighed, “Maybe I was hoping for someone to come in and tell me that it would be okay, and I could keep my baby.”

Sally reached out to Let Them Live clinging to that hope. What she found in us was more than encouragement. We are promising her sisterhood within our community and an adoptive family much larger than she could’ve expected.

With the imminent departure of her grandmother, Sally will be left with bills she cannot fully manage on her own. Without the father of her baby stepping in, Sally feels truly alone.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselor identified so that she can keep her baby:
Housing + Utilities | Groceries | Transportation | Pregnancy and job / financial counseling | Prenatal Care | Medical Expenses | Grandmothers Bills
Would you consider donating any amount so that Sally has financial peace during these times? We will continue to counsel her as she processes her pregnancy and her grandmother’s passing.
