Sandy is a young college student and mother of two. She is currently 11 weeks pregnant and has an abortion scheduled for Saturday, July 15th.* The news that she was pregnant left her feeling deeply sad and troubled.

Having grown up in a family where physical and emotional abuse was common, Sandy ended up marrying a man who inflicted the same abuse on her. After leaving the marriage with her two kids, she ended up with her current boyfriend some time later. Sandy constantly thinks about her past, and the thought that her baby might have to go through similar circumstances deeply troubles her.

Her boyfriend is a loving and supportive man who has told her he is willing to help in any way he can. In fact, he does not want her to abort and is currently looking for a better job to further support them. But he is also aware of Sandy’s traumatic past and has assured her that he will support her no matter what she decides.

Despite her boyfriend’s loyalty, Sandy is also facing financial difficulties. She works a full-time job, but it provides barely enough to make ends meet. The family is currently staying at her roommate’s house, but the roommate insisted that having a baby will not be an option. The thought of not having a place to live has added to Sandy’s fear.

Faced with the prospect of a potentially traumatic life for her baby and her multiple financial struggles, Sandy scheduled an abortion for Saturday, July 15th. Despite taking these steps, her heart was not truly in it. She began looking for any other options, and discovered Let Them Live on Facebook. Shortly after, she was talking with our counselors.

Sandy is a very smart and sweet woman who has overcome the worst hardships imaginable. She has had to figure out life all on her own with little help from anyone, and she is determined to prevent the same kind of suffering for her kids. All she wants is a good life for her family in a safe environment. But the weight of her circumstances has eroded her confidence and her belief that there is any other way besides abortion. She told our counselors that “If I can’t maintain a good life for a third child, I have no business having another child.”

If we stand with Sandy and meet her needs, we can be the way out of abortion that she truly wants. Together, we can show Sandy that she can overcome her hardships to be a good mother for her kids and her precious baby.

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Sandy can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
Housing + Utilities | Childcare | Car Payments | Past-due Rent | Baby Items | Other Related Expenses
Note: These expenses may be adjusted in the future based on additional expenses incurred during and after her pregnancy. With your help, we can save Sandy and her 11-week baby from abortion! Donors will receive updates on Sandy and her baby throughout and after her pregnancy.
