URGENT: Following open heart surgery, mom of 3 schedules abortion on April 1st

Star is a mother of three, and 5 weeks pregnant with a fourth.* When she found out she was pregnant again, she began crying. Reflecting on her situation filled her with fear and doubt.

When she broke the news to her friends and family, nearly everyone in her life began telling her to abort, including her parents. The baby’s father has been pressuring her the hardest. He made it very clear that he is not interested in the baby and wants her to “get rid of it.” He even told her that if she kept the baby, he would have it taken away from her. Surrounded by all these negative influences has left Star feeling more lost and alone than ever. 

Her biggest problem is her vehicle. She and her three kids can fit into her current vehicle, but there is no room for a baby. In addition to this, she is unemployed due to complications from heart surgery. She receives an income from disability payments, but this also means that she has to constantly go to doctor appointments with all of her kids. 

Faced with her transportation concerns and the constant negative influence of friends, family, and the baby’s father, Star scheduled an abortion on April 1st. Around this time, she also made contact with a Let Them Live sidewalk advocate, who convinced her to at least give us a chance.

Star told our counselors that every morning when she wakes up, one thought crosses her mind, “I don’t want to get an abortion.” Star loves her baby and believes that with a different vehicle, she would be able to make her situation work. If we unite and help meet Star’s needs, we can give her the confidence to choose life for her precious baby!

Here are the expenses that our crisis pregnancy counselors identified so that Star can confidently carry her pregnancy to term:
