Gratitude Program

Volunteering with Let Them Live is a great way to stay involved in the Pro-Life movement in day-to-day life. The volunteer coordinators are supportive and appreciative of any commitment - large or small. I wrote thank-you cards to donors, which was often a very moving experience as I recounted the stories of women who Let Them Live helped at the eleventh hour. You can feel God’s grace working through this organization.

Let Them Live is such an amazing organization! I share about them with just about everyone I know. I came across them on Facebook and after donating a few times, I decided I wanted to do even more to BE the change. As a woman who had her own crisis pregnancy situation at the age of 16, I really had a burning desire to do more. I had an amazingly supportive family and took classes at a local crisis pregnancy center but, I realize that not everyone is fortunate enough to have that support in their life and that is where LTL comes in! So, I reached out... Writing thank you cards might seem like a small task, but I have come to realize that it is what I can do at this season of life, as a homeschool mom of young children. Being on the receiving end of the cards from past donations, I know just how special it is to be appreciated for donating and not just another number. I LOVE being able to show the handwritten thank you’s to my girls and say, 'Look, we helped save this baby!'

I’ve had the pleasure of volunteering for Let Them Live for just about 7 months now... and it’s been a long and interesting journey that had led me here today. Even since middle school I have always tried to be and remain involved in pro life organizations and activities inside and outside of school. But, as a male trying to fight the battle for choosing life, in world that only believes a woman has the right choose, it has come with its fair amount of challenges and criticism. I’ve been told to mind my business... that I could never understand... and that I don’t have a right or say in the matter... Luckily, I’ve always allowed my convictions and beliefs in this matter to keep me from wavering from my efforts and stance on the subject. See what these people, who have ridiculed my opinion due to my sex, didn’t know was that my Mother had a choice once. When my Mother was pregnant with my brother, Matthew, she was told that she should strongly consider an abortion. This was due to blood clots and complications that had formulated during the pregnancy, which could potentially kill her. At one point, she was basically heavily persuaded to the brink of force to abort Matthew. She would ultimately decide to not go through with the abortion, and turned her faith over to God in the decision. Luckily for me God chose to allow my Mother and Matthew to live. As a result, I have a life long best friend in Matthew, and the best Mother anyone could ever ask for. The truth many are in tough and scary situations, and everyone has a choice to make. But, what we forget is that death is never the answer to a tough or scary situation... it only perpetuates it. To that I say, choose life... and always defend the defenseless!

I have only just started volunteering with Let Them Live but it has been the most rewards and humbling experience in just a few short weeks. To work alongside incredible, strong women and hear their stories and those of new moms coming in for guidance is so powerful. There are people who are truly struggling in life but put away their pride and reach out to us saying "I need help". I love being there for them and hearing their stories and their journey. I am thankful to be a part of an incredible organization like this and I am excited for the future where I can help and love as many moms as possible.

I recently discovered Let Them Live when I was searching for more direct ways to help abortion-vulnerable women choose life for their unborn babies. Seeing ultrasounds and photos of the babies saved fills me with immense joy and a desire to do more. God blessed me with two healthy children, and while I prayed He would allow me to conceive more, I find that volunteering as a thank-you card writer allows me to express my gratitude for the generous donors who, like me, love life and motherhood!
